"You were only supposed to blow the bleedin' roof off" Michael Caine - The Italian Job.
Unlike the remake of the Italian Job, the remake of the Mini is a damn fine product. Where BMW succeeded and others have failed, with retro designed nods to the past, is they have built a car with substance, to match its considerable style.
Despite its diminutive size the , with its long wheelbase and wide track, is surprisingly spacious - capable of transporting four adults in cheeky style.
Like the original, the Mini is a truly classless car. Driven by film stars, brain surgeons and deep-sea divers alike, this car can go anywhere and hold its head high.
Sitting squat, with a wheel at every corner, this little baby handles like a Go Kart. In fact our branch in New York recently played host to two cars which were done up as dodgems. As a marketing ploy they were driven around Manhattan by chimpanzees, ducking in and out of the yellow cabs, knocking New Yorkers over like skittles - a sight to behold and all good fun.
So, if you're looking to get up to a bit of mischief with three like-minded buddies, this is the perfect getaway car for you.
