Bedecked in chrome, wood and leather, looking for the entire world like the car your bank manager would drive, the Daimler Super V8 wears knuckledusters beneath its kid gloves. This is the ultimate 'Q' car, even more so its spiritual brother, the Jaguar XJR - this is a hooligan in a Saville Row suit.
Under that shimmering bonnet the super charged V8 engine delivers 370 ft/lbs of torque (the stuff that gives you all that mid range oomph and makes driving and overtaking such effortless fun) - that's 27 ft/lbs more than the pathetically underpowered Ferrari F430.
We like to take this baby out for a day in the countryside, admiring the view and eating our cheese and pickle sandwiches off the picnic tables in the back. Then we head home bloodying the noses boy-racers in their Halfords enhanced GTI's just for the hell of it.
