We imported this beauty from our brothers over the pond at CCC NA. Now we get along very well, but it struck us they may have pulled a bit of a fast one - there is definitely something wrong with this car.
Sure, it's sensationally quick, sprinting to 60 faster than the Mitsubishi Evo 8. The 500watt Shaker stereo system (so called because it shakes you to the core - not because it is beautifully, handcrafted from wood) is loud enough to make your ears bleed. The air-conditioning, in true American style, is cold enough to stick your tongue to the steering wheel - if you are so disposed.
The payload, with the rear seats folded, is large enough to accommodate a pre-inflated bouncy castle.
All of this is well and good, but we have found that the car actually goes around bends, which just can not be right. We thought they had sent us some sort of Japanese copy, which actually drives, as well as it looks, but no, according to Geoff the Postman (our eyes and ears on the motoring world) - it is the real M'coy. Now we're not saying that it will corner like the fore mentioned Evo 8, that would be ridiculous.
It does however pull off an amazing trick. It manages to combine all of the refinements of a modern car with real good ol' fashion muscle car feel. This really is a hairy chested beast of a car that Steve McQueen would be proud of.
