With styling that hails back to the MKII of the 60’s you could be forgiven for dismissing the S Type as bit of a granddad’s car – quite right if Ray Winston is your father’s father.

This was Jaguar’s answer to BMW’s (E39) M5 and if it is at all possible it is slightly more powerful and responsive whether you use the J gate gearbox or not.

The boot isn’t quite as large as the M5’s and the interior feels slightly more cramped but comfortable none the less.
