Matching Metal to Mortal
Loads of people come to us looking for a new love in their life. Despite all of our warnings about the pitfalls of ownership they just have to have a baby of their own sitting on their driveway or in the garage.
As you know we don’t really sell ours very often, we just pimp them out. So we thought, what the hell, why not let like-minded individuals use us as a platform to match their unwanted gem with somebody who’ll love them afresh; a kind of love match service for humans and machines.
It is just a toe in the water at the moment – if you want something fast and slick with powerful searches, pop up ads and a gazillion cars on offer go to Autotrader. However if you want something clunky and amateurish but free of charge that will be seen by the thousands of visitors to our website all in search of the interesting and unusual – we’re the boys for you.
The only stipulation is that the cars or motorbikes must be from a private seller and the sort of thing that floats our boat. Pretty loose and vague criteria we know, so email the details with some nice photos and we’ll judge if it is in or out. It’s our ball after all so we decide who gets to play.
Buyers please bear in mind all we are doing is posting an ad for a third party; it is up to the buyer to determine whether it is a peach or a plum:
caveat emptor | 'emp,tôr |
noun
the principle that the buyer alone is responsible for checking the quality and suitability of goods before a purchase is made.
ORIGIN early 16th cent.: Latin, literally ‘let the buyer beware.’
If you would like to post an ad email nigel@classiccarclub.co.uk with details of your offering, how much lolly you would like and your contact details.
Simply scroll down the list below to see what is up for grabs – the latest additions appear at the top. If something tickles your fancy drop us a line with the ad code and we’ll hook you up.
Happy hunting!
